By using our website and/or booking, either online, by email, or phone, and/or playing any AFTERMATH game, you agree to the terms & conditions stated below, including our Privacy Policy.
1. WEBSITE USE AND SECURITY
1.1 - AFTERMATH holds the right to amend or vary the terms and conditions below including any of the contents of this website from time to time at its sole discretion without prior notice.
1.2 - The parts of the terms and conditions that apply to the use of the website by any visitor, should be read carefully before use.
1.3 - AFTERMATH does its best to supply you with the most up to date and accurate information on the website.
1.4 - The website is for your personal and non-commercial use. You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer or sell any information obtained from this website without the written consent of the AFTERMATH.
1.5 - You are not permitted to link to, or use all, or any part of the website for any purpose which is fraudulent, unlawful, defamatory, harmful, obscene or objectionable.
1.6 - You accept that the Internet is not fully secure. AFTERMATH will take all appropriate steps to protect your information.
1.7 - AFTERMATH shall not be liable to any person for any direct or indirect, consequential or incidental damages, including (without limitation) lost profits or revenues, loss of opportunity, costs of replacement goods or services, loss or damage to data or business interruption, arising out of any use of the website.
1.8 - The website may contain hyperlinks to third-party websites. The operation of those websites is out of AFTERMATH's control and you may use them at your own risk. AFTERMATH accepts no liability for any damage arising out of any use of those websites.
2. PARTICIPANT WAIVER
We want you to have a good time with us. As such, all Players of our in-person or virtual games must agree to the following:
2.1 - It is the responsibility of the lead booker to ensure the terms and conditions are followed by all Players.
2.2 - That they are providing a suitable and safe environment for our Game Facilitator(s) to run your Experience in.
2.3 – That they will not cause breakages or harm or do anything to place themselves or others in harm's way.
2.4 – That they abide by the guidelines and instructions given by our Game Facilitator(s).
2.5 – That they are not inebriated in any way which makes them a risk to themselves, others, their immediate environment or our Game Facilitator(s), physical or virtual equipment.
2.6 – That they agree to all the terms and conditions as stated on purchase.
2.7 – That they do not disclose, record or reveal the contents of AFTERMATH publicly, nor attempt to duplicate game elements and AFTERMATH IP elsewhere.
2.8 – That if any of these terms are breached, then the Game Facilitator(s) has the right to cancel the game at any time without refund.
3. GENERAL
3.1 - Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to affect your statutory rights.
3.2 - The only language available for the conclusion of a contract online is English.
3.3 - These terms and conditions and any contract concluded incorporating these terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and all disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
3.4 - AFTERMATH collects and stores your personal details in accordance with the Privacy Policy and is dedicated to ensuring that the privacy of your personal information is protected in accordance with The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 25 May 2018.
3.5 - AFTERMATH players that book with the intention of reviewing their experience in professional or semi-professional media must let AFTERMATH know prior to playing the game, and in doing so may not disclose any sensitive details of the experience. Any reviews of this nature must be agreed in advance with AFTERMATH prior to booking. Additional information might be requested from Aftermath to clarify review points.
4. IN PERSON GAME TERMS
4.1 - Our in-person games are designed for varying group sizes depending on the game format. All players must comply with the following terms and conditions. It is the responsibility of the person who books to ensure this happens.
4.2 - Our in-person games will last for approximately 60/90/120 minutes. However, there will be a 10-15 minute 'Briefing' and 'Debriefing' period before and after the game. Players should, therefore, be aware that games may finish up to 2 hours from the start time given to the team.
4.3 - The trademarks and logos displayed online and offline are the property of AFTERMATH. You are not permitted to use these without written consent and you accept that any such use may constitute an infringement of the relevant proprietor's rights.
4.4 - Due to the nature of the game no photos, screen-recordings or video recordings in any form can be taken during the mission. That includes (without limitation) the use of mobile phones, recording devices (video and/or audio) and cameras. The use of such a device is only permitted "in-game" for game-directed purposes at any time.
4.5 - AFTERMATH expects players not to disclose any details of the game directly or indirectly to the public.
4.6 - AFTERMATH is entitled to charge the players for any damage which is intentional and/or caused by misuse of items.
4.7 - AFTERMATH doesn't tolerate any kind of bullying or harassment towards its Game Facilitator(s).
4.8 - Participants acknowledge that the experience may involve physical, environmental, or virtual challenges and agree to take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others. Participants must follow all instructions given by the Game Facilitator(s). The Company takes reasonable steps to operate the experience safely but cannot be responsible for risks arising from failure to follow instructions or from participants acting outside the rules of the experience.
4.9 - All players must follow instructions from our Game Facilitator(s). By completing a booking, the lead booker accepts these terms and conditions on behalf of all players in their party. The minimum age for participation is 8 years old. Players under 18 must have additional adults present.
4.10 - Your Game Facilitator(s) will arrive at least 10 minutes before your booked time. If our Game Facilitator(s) is delayed, he/she/they will contact you on the phone number you provided upon booking.
4.11 - You are expected to begin your mission at the booked time. If you are unable to start your mission up to 20 minutes after your agreed time, our Game Facilitator(s) reserves the right to adjust the length of your experience. Delays in excess of 20 minutes may result in postponement or cancellation, as the Game Facilitator(s) may have additional bookings on the same date.
4.12 - Customers are not allowed to bring people on their experience who fall outside of the restrictions within these terms and conditions (including but not limited to, players who are too young to take part). If they choose to do so then they accept all risks and responsibility for said persons.
4.13 - It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure a suitable venue or room is in place for the game to take place. This includes any insurance cover needed for the participants.
4.14 - There is no capacity to store the player's possessions while playing as part of the experience, so it is strongly recommended that unnecessary items are not brought to the game. If the group has any special requirements (for example, if there is a wheelchair user in the group), these requirements must be communicated to the company in good time for provisions to be made. We are keen to be as inclusive as possible and for this reason, it is recommended that these requirements are communicated prior to any bookings being made, if possible.
5. REMOTE/VIRTUAL GAME TERMS
5.1 - Our virtual games are designed for varying group sizes depending on the game format. All players must comply with the following terms and conditions. It is the responsibility of the person who books to ensure this happens.

Participants must follow all instructions given by the Game Facilitator(s). The Company takes reasonable steps to operate the experience safely but cannot be responsible for risks arising from failure to follow instructions or from participants acting outside the rules of the experience.
5.9 - All players must follow instructions from our Game Facilitator(s). Any players under the age of 18 must have additional adults present during the game.
5.10 - Your Game Facilitator(s) will start admitting players into their designated virtual meeting room around 5 minutes before your booked time. If our Game Facilitator(s) is delayed, he/she/they will contact the lead participant on the phone number provided upon booking.
5.11 - The lead participant will receive the details required to access the game 24 hours prior to game start. It is the lead participant's responsibility to ensure this is distributed to all players.
5.12 - You are expected to begin your mission at the booked time. If you are unable to start your mission up to 10 minutes after your agreed time, our Game Facilitator(s) reserves the right to adjust the length of your experience. Delays in excess of 15 minutes may result in postponement or cancellation, as the Game Facilitator(s) may have additional bookings on the same date.
5.13 - Customers are not allowed to bring people on their experience who fall outside of the restrictions within these terms and conditions (including but not limited to, players who are too young to take part). If they choose to do so then they accept all risks and responsibility for said persons.
5.14 - It is the player's responsibility to ensure their own technical equipment is compatible with the virtual meeting platform being used. If it is your first time using the platform, it is recommended that your system is tested in advance of the game start to ensure full compatibility.
6. BOOKINGS & REFUNDS
6.2 - A booking is confirmed once payment has been received by AFTERMATH.
6.4 - A binding contract between the purchaser and AFTERMATH comes into existence when a booking confirmation is dispatched to the purchaser.
6.5 - Only person(s) who are at least 18 years of age are permitted to book.
6.6 - AFTERMATH is a live experience event. Bookings are non-refundable once confirmed, except where required by law or where AFTERMATH is unable to provide the experience as described. Any discretionary refunds or rescheduling outside these circumstances are at AFTERMATH’s sole discretion. Reschedule is possible within 14 working days prior to the booked time, at AFTERMATH's discretion.
6.7 - In the case of fewer people attending the event than have been booked for, the price difference cannot be refunded.
6.8 - Any purchase on the website is only valid when processed and received by AFTERMATH. You shall receive a confirmation once your booking is processed.
6.9 - If you wish to transfer your booking(s) into someone else's name, you must contact us either by email or telephone at least 14 working days prior to the start of your booking. Your request may not be honoured and can be denied.
6.10 - Bookings may not be transferred or resold for commercial purposes or at a premium. If a booking is transferred or resold in breach of this condition, the bearer of the booking or the person claiming the right to attend the event will be refused admission.
6.11 - You are entirely responsible for entering your details correctly on the online booking form, by booking via email or via phone.
6.16 - Any additional participants after the booking is confirmed must be communicated to us as soon as possible. Any additional participants are subject to the quoted price per person.
6.18 - The price of a game is stated on the website under the booking section in British pound sterling and we can accept only that currency.
6.19 - The participant price is set according to the number of people within the same booking and the timing of the week. All prices are subject to change with prior notice.
6.20 - The accepted payment methods are credit and debit cards via our payment processors PayPal or Stripe. Bank transfer can be arranged upon request.
6.21 - Full payment is required a minimum of 72 hours before the desired game start. Failure to pay will result in the cancellation of the event.
6.22 - Late Payment Credit Terms: Aftermath UK requires payment up-front. In the case that we grant you a credit period, our terms are as follows: payment is to be made within 7 days after the date your booking took place unless otherwise agreed in writing. After this period, late payment interest will be charged at Bank of England base rate plus 8%. If debt recovery action is needed, any additional fees will be passed to the client.
7. SAFETY
7.1 - Each participant will be instructed before their game by the Game Facilitator(s). After learning the rules of the event, each participant will participate in the event at their own risk. The company is not liable for any (personal or equipment) damages caused by not following the rules described before the event, or general participation.
7.2 - Any room or space we bring our in-person games to must have fire exit signs clearly marked.
7.3 - People under the influence of alcohol or drugs may be turned away and their game recorded as a no-show.
7.4 - Food may not be consumed during the game.
7.5 - To be admitted you must confirm the full name of the booker and may be asked to confirm the phone number and email address the booking confirmation was sent to.
7.6 - All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a minimum of 2 responsible adults for the duration of the activity. Supervision requirements must be confirmed prior to commencement of the game.
8. PHOTOS
8.1 - Photos of each team during and at the end of the game are optional.
8.2 - By opting in to photos, any photos taken may be uploaded or used on social media sites and printed material, including promotional material, without names.
8.3 - To remove your photos from social media you must notify us by sending us the URL to info(at)aftermaththegame.co.uk. If you wish to remove your photos from printed promotional material, please instruct us and your photos will not be used for future printing. Under no circumstances will already printed promotional material be withdrawn from circulation, nor any compensation given.
9. FORCE MAJEURE
9.1 - Except where otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, the company regrets that it cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of its contractual obligations is prevented or affected by, or you otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of, "Force Majeure".
9.2 - In these conditions, "Force Majeure" means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include, but are not limited to, war or threat of war, pandemic, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity or threatened terrorist activity, industrial disputes, strikes, lockouts, failure of public transport networks, rail disruption, train delays or cancellations, airport closures, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire, and all similar events outside our reasonable control.
10. COMPANY'S LIABILITY
AFTERMATH, herby "the Company"
10.1 - The Company will provide the arrangements it agrees to supply under the contract with reasonable skill and care. The Company will be responsible for any failure to do so where such failure is due to negligence by the Company, its Game Facilitator(s), or its appointed suppliers acting on its behalf.
10.2- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot be excluded or limited under English law. The burden is on the party bringing a claim to demonstrate that the Company has failed to exercise reasonable skill and care, in accordance with applicable law.
10.3 - The Company shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, illness, death, cost, or expense arising from:
10.3.1 - the act or omission of any participant or member of their party;
10.3.2 - the act or omission of any third party not acting under the Company’s reasonable control;
10.3.3 - failure by participants to follow instructions, rules, or safety guidance provided by the Game Facilitator(s);
10.3.4 - Force Majeure events as defined in these Terms.
10.4 - The Company shall not be responsible for any services, facilities, or arrangements not forming part of the contract with the Company, including any third-party venues, equipment, or services engaged or controlled by others.
10.5 - The Company shall not be liable for any loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of enjoyment, loss of opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with the contract, except where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
10.6 - The Company shall not be liable for any loss of or damage to personal property brought to the experience by participants.
10.7 - To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company’s total liability arising out of or in connection with any booking, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall be limited to the total amount paid for that booking.
10.8 - The Company is only responsible for acts or omissions of its Game Facilitator(s), employees, or contractors where they are acting in the course of their duties on behalf of the Company.
11. PUBLIC HEALTH & INFECTIOUS DISEASE
11.1 - All in-person bookings may be subject to public health guidelines issued by the UK Government or relevant authorities. Our operational measures will be updated in line with any such guidance as required.
11.2 - Anyone displaying symptoms of a contagious illness must not attend our in-person experience. If the Game Facilitator(s) observes anyone showing signs of illness, the client agrees that the Game Facilitator(s) has the right to refuse or exclude that individual from the experience.
11.3 - If government guidance prevents us from running your game as scheduled, your booking will be postponed or placed on hold free of charge.
